Central City Productions announced the Final nominees for the 2014 Stellar Awards and much to Tyscot’s joy, two of its artists received a combined, outstanding 14 nominations.
The majority went to breakout group, Anthony Brown & group therAPy, who received a total of 8 nominations. The album’s producer Justin Savage, CD layout creative director Melanie Scott, as well as their music video for the hit song “Testimony” (produced by Brand X Media) also received recognition making it a grand total of 11 nods towards their self-titled debut project. After a whirlwind year of high profile appearances and continued rave reviews, the group is capping 2013 off with this momentous achievement. (more…)

Jaeson Ma is a successful motivational speaker, businessman, actor and spoken word griot but it was not always certain that he’d reach this level of achievement. During his teen years, the Chinese American entrepreneur ran with Vietnamese gangs in his San Diego neighborhood and became a self-described wild child. “I did everything that was out there on the streets from drugs to partying and stealing,” he says. That’s all until an arrest startled him into salvation and for the next few years he was on a radical trek to evangelize the world. However, after the painful breakup of a significant relationship, he says, “I became disillusioned with life, ministry and my calling. I began to drink heavily and became an alcoholic.” After his mother, a devoted born-again Christian, was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, Ma put everything else aside to take care of her and nurse her back to health. Newark, NJ (Monday, December 2, 2013) – Motown Gospel’s Tye Tribbett wins Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance at the 2014 Soul Train Music Awards for his hit single “If He Did It Before…Same God” from his #1 album, GREATER THAN. This is Tribbett’s first Soul Train Award win.
The Soul Train Music Awards was taped in Las Vegas on November 8 and aired on the Centric and BET Networks on December 1, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The show will re-air on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 on Centric and BET at 7 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. CT

Los Angeles, CA (December 2, 2013) — No stranger to spreading light with his chart-topping inspirational music, award-winning new artist Stephen B. Steward is set to host the 2013 Pasadena Mayor’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on December 5th from 5:30pm-7:30pm PST.
Set to air on the Crown City’s own cable television network KPAS, the festive event, hosted at Pasadena’s City Hall, will see Steward act as the Master of Ceremony and a featured performer. On hand to lend a stirring live rendition of the classic Nat King Cole holiday favorite “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)”, Steward will be accompanied by accomplished 15-year-old pianist Sunee James – a participant in his nonprofit youth music program LOV Olive Branches.
